Consider the contribution to civilization of women like Sarah, Ruth, Hannah, Debra, Abigail, Mary Magdalene, Martha, Mary the mother of Jesus, Suzanna Wesley, Elizabeth Eliot, and countless others who have made the world a little better because of the way they lived for God. We might well argue that our western civilization is crying out for Christ-honoring women. Take up any newspaper, or search the internet for the crisis of mothering, and quickly you will be horrified at what the world has done to women in our day! I can say without contradiction that there would be no such thing as civilization but for God-fearing women. God-fearing mothers have stabilized our homes, trained and nurtured our young in biblical Scripture, and supported their husbands. As goes the mothers so go the nation!
