Anita Bunce, Minister of Music

Anita has lived in Lexington and been a member of Coggins Memorial Baptist Church for nearly 40 years. She has had the privilege of serving as Minister of Music for Coggins Church since 1989. As a Chemistry major and Math minor from Campbell University, being a Director of Music was not a career path Anita had chosen, but she likes to say that God had a better plan. Over the years, Anita has directed the Coggins Youth and Children's Choirs, the Tone Chime Choir, and the Adult Sanctuary Choir. In addition to the church choirs of Coggins, Anita has enjoyed opportunities to direct various community choirs and served for twelve years as the Director of Lexington's annual Community Christmas Candlelight Service. Anita and husband D. Linwood Bunce II are the proud parents of four beautiful daughters, six amazing grandchildren, ...and still counting!

Lynda Russell, Ministry Assistant

Lynda has been a part of the church her entire life.  Having served as a Women on Mission group leader and as a volunteer on missions trips with the NC Baptist Men, and has worked with every age range from PreK (Mission Friends) to Youth. She has a good understanding of the potential Baptist churches have to reach the world for Christ.  Her passion for the teachings of the church is with Children and Youth Bible Drills, where she feels she has learned more than she taught.  Lynda graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in Accounting.  She and her husband have five grown sons.  She began work at Coggins Memorial in October of 2014 and enjoys being a part of this church family as a member of the Support Staff.

Lucretia Wilson, Daycare Director

Greetings to all the parents and staff of Coggins Child Development Center!  I would like the opportunity to take the time to introduce myself as the new Director to all the families and staff members. My name is Lucretia Wilson and I have worked in the childcare field for the last 15 years in various roles ranging from a family childcare provider to a lead teacher and even going into the business as a Childcare Center Owner and Director. Working within these various roles has provided me with a great understanding, knowledge, and experience in the childcare field.

My background in childcare started when I was 16 years old working with my mother at her in-home childcare which in turn led to me pursuing higher education in this field. I received my bachelor’s degree majoring in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Birth-Kindergarten Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2009 and my Master of Teaching in Special Education from Liberty University in 2012.

Working in the childcare field has been a passion in my life that brings me complete joy and happiness. I am excited to be joining the Coggins family and having the opportunity to bring my knowledge and experience to this ministry.  I am overjoyed to be able to share my experiences in the childcare field with all the staff and families. I believe that all families and staff members are essential pieces to the success of the children at the center and together we can make the difference to create a powerful next generation of children! I look forward to growing with the Coggins family and establishing relationships with everyone involved.
