Why will God answer your prayer? Because HE is good and because HE is great! Twenty-six times the Psalmist reminds us that God’s covenant love toward His people stands unchanged, forever! In confirmation of His covenant mercies we may simply recognize His mighty power in creating the universe. Or, we may meditate on His amazing works to redeem His people. Or, we can simply give notice to how in His tender care He provides for our daily lives. For these reasons we begin and end Psalm 136 with a passionate and compelling call for all of God’s covenant people to give thanks to the Lord! Having trouble understanding the Bible?
