Hold Fast Your Liberty In Christ | Have We Abandoned the Cross?

What is liberty? It is not freedom to do wrong toward others and sin against God. Liberty is the freedom to do what we ought to do. Liberty is the freedom to serve God and our fellow man. Martin Luther: “The cross alone is our theology.” But have we abandoned the cross? Do we glory in the cross of Christ’s death or in our own goodness? Do we covet the praise of men; then we are cut off from the cross of Christ! By faith, we are crucified with Him and are cut off from the praise of this world and the pleasures of sin. Let us take up our cross and follow the Lord of glory who bore the cross alone for us! Let us bear our cross for His glory! We must hold fast to our liberty in Christ.
