The Apostle Paul likened the Christian life to a race one several, and so it is. "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it." (1 Cor. 9:24). Furthermore, the writer of the book of Hebrews compares our journey of following Christ to an arena. "Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, (Heb. 12:1) A race must be run with strength and endurance. Don't quit! Ours is a race of endurance not of speed. Every believer must have good direction, sufficient strength, and passion to finish the race that is set before him. Run the race, finish the course!
