Have you ever wondered why the Bible is divided into old and new testaments? The word “testament” means covenant. So we can say that the Bible is divided into Old and New Covenants. Naturally, the next question is what is a covenant? Stated simply, God’s covenant is God’s promise (v. 42), His oath (v. 9), or His Word (v. 8).
