Genesis 42 & 43 Joseph’s Reunion with His Brothers, Old Sins Die Hard

Topic: Genesis, Israel, Jews, Abraham Scripture: Genesis 42–43

Old sins do not die easily. There must be conviction, and confession, followed by repentance before a clean break and a fresh beginning can happen.

In chapters 42 and 43 we see the beginning of genuine reunion between Joseph and his brothers. This process of healing, forgiveness, and reconciliation starts with the uncomfortable work of conviction. In this passage, we see the pressures being brought upon Joseph’s brothers leading them to conviction, and eventually confession and reconciliation.

Note these pressures as we study these chapters together.
