Jesus Heals Our Blindness | He Healed the Deaf, Blind, Lame, & Mute

The returning of sight is the subject of the account in Mark 8:22-26. There is a play on words used to show how Jesus restored sight to a man in degrees. This word progression is accomplished through the verb “to see.” The man brought to Jesus was blind; then he could see a little, and lastly, he could see clearly. Why did Jesus perform such miracles? Were his miracles to be understood as one-dimensional? Or, are we to understand them with a deeper meaning as we read the accounts in the New Testament? Once Jesus returned across the Sea of Galilee again, He arrived at the village-city of Bethsaida, which is located on the North Eastern side of the Sea. Not long after coming ashore, a blind man was brought from a distance to Jesus so that Jesus might lay His hands on Him to restore His sight. This was a real healing performed by Jesus. It was done in such a way to illustrate the greater need of man -- his spiritual need for healing from blindness toward God and His truth.
