One of Jesus Christ's most well-known miracles, the calming of the storm while in a little boat on the Sea of Galilee, has brought comfort to untold millions. But is "our comfort" the main reason the account was recorded? Join Scott E. Slaughter as he unpacks this remarkable historical account from the Bible. What is the real interpretation and how might we apply it to our lives? A terrible danger exists for all of us as we open the Scriptures. We can jump to the application before investing time in interpretation. This is one of the most misused and misunderstood accounts in all Scripture. Often this passage has been used merely to comfort ourselves in our troubles and trials. In other words, we have often placed ourselves at the center of the narrative. This is the exact opposite of the reason we have been given this amazing historical record of our Lord’s actions before His disciples. As we behold His Majesty in Scripture today, let us find a resting place for our Faith in Jesus only!
