The Christian Faith is apostolic. What is meant by that statement must be clarified and explained. In the Gospel of Mark 3:13-19, we see the fourfold progression of the ministry for which they are being prepared. Their ministry begins with Christ’s powerful calling. That calling is first “to be with Him.” We are called by the Lord, to the Lord, and nothing else. This was true of the great Apostles of Christ and should be an example for all who follow after filling the pulpit and shepherding Christ’s flocks.
