And why do the great crowds from the farthest regions of the Jewish community seek Him out — to be healed? They do not care little about His person, teaching, or mission. They “press” Him so that they might touch Him and receive healing. This is not an organized congregation but a hysterical crowd. Often those who aspire to the ministry of Christ’s gospel are overwhelmed by the pressure of people. Usually, this is not on the scale that our Lord experienced but it is exhausting and discouraging nevertheless.
