Today, I want us to look into Holy Scripture to recognize and learn from a few radical women whom God blessed greatly. Though these women of God are not sinless, they are holy and godly. What then, you ask, makes them radical? To that question, we will give some time in this study. And as we consider how these women are radically different, both in our time and in their own, let us also reevaluate what it means to celebrate special days like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. On the surface, it is probably a good idea to encourage people to honor their parents. This is, after all, the Fifth Commandment of God in Exodus 20: “Honor your father and mother…”. How should a Christian woman judge herself? By what standard should she determine her own success? To what standard should she aspire? Should Christian women follow the fads of Hollywood, New York, or Paris? What about feminism (first, second, or third wave)? Should Christian women desire marriage, children, and success in business?
