Does the Church have an identity problem? Considering this saying of Christ completely, we see that we are given several illustrations by our Lord that encourage His church to not embrace passivity or anonymity. The church is told to see itself as the salt of the earth and the light of the world. He teaches us the unreasonableness and the futility of hiding the gospel and the godly deeds that accompany the lives of those who believe it. Jesus also includes a subtle warning when He says that when salt has lost its saltiness, it is only reasonable for one thing, to be thrown on the roads and trampled by men. Does today's church see itself as the salt of the earth and the light of the world? Or, does it take its cues from the world? As a general rule, we see professing evangelicals and reformed churches across the world embracing the world’s immorality and philosophy, while hiding, surprising and modifying the teaching of the New Testament. We are called to SALT and LIGHT beloved! Resources Referenced by Pastor Scott: Christian Nationalism: https://www.amazon.com/Case-Christian...
