Have you ever been driving through a large city and found yourself in a sub-community built around a select ethnic group? All the signs have suddenly changed to another language. You may want to go to a restaurant or visit a certain office, but the signs are no help because they are written in a language foreign to you. Christian worship is not mysticism, nor is it mystical. There is a mysterium tremendum, a type of mystery about our God. He is transcendent, all-powerful, and all-knowing, but not unknown or unknowable. He is known through His self-revelation, His Word.
