When Christians Take Each Other to Court

Series: 1 Corinthians, The Cross and Its Community

Some take their rights too far, their freedoms too personally, and their neighbor too lightly. We’ve seen the concept of rights being abused by the wicked and used by our enemies. How we use our laws, rights, and judgments may be more important than having them. In the section before today, Paul parleys from the local church judging the fornicator in their midst to the church conducting court for everyday affairs. This comes up because once again word has come to him that the Christians in Corinth are taking their issues with one another to the local courts to be settled rather than before the Pastors and Deacons of the local church.
