In verses 6-13, we have just this kind of situation. In a prior letter, that is lost to us, the Apostle Paul cautioned the new Christians at Corinth not to keep company with sexually immoral individuals, but they had either misunderstood him or deliberately disobeyed. So far in chapter 5, we have studied the chapter through a general overview, and then we examined verses 1-5 to understand how to deal with this kind of situation in the church. In this section, verses 6-13, we will meditate on why their boasting in this sin is so bad. Paul writes: “[6] Your boasting is not good.”
