Before Mark moves into his account of the Lord’s passion, he recounts an abbreviated version of what is called The Olivet Discourse. This is the longest uninterrupted speech of Jesus recorded in the Gospel of Mark. This sermon of Jesus is recorded in Matthew and Luke’s Gospels wit more detail. The Bible never gives us prophecy for excitement or entertainment; but for our comfort and encouragement in the Faith.
