We are anticipating a holy future. This anticipation of deliverance from sin, the world, and Satan cheers us onward in our pursuit of sanctification and obedience to Christ in our daily lives. We are anticipating the return of the Holy One. We are anticipating the completion of our holiness. The Christian does not conform his life to the commandments of Christ out of a crushing sense of rule-keeping but he gladly embraces the new life given him in Christ through repentance of sin and faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have been delivered from this world and the judgment of God that is coming upon it. In Christ, we have been forgiven of our evil sins, given eternal life, reconciled with our God, and adopted into the family of God! What mercy! What love! How can we do anything but adore Him and follow Him who is our Savior? This love - calls us to pure and holy life! Are you pursuing God, dear Christian? Is pleasing Him your greatest desire? Do other things have more sway in your heart and mind? Forsake them and flee to Christ! Behold His love for you!
