Life is not easy! It’s not a party or a day at the beach. Throughout our lives, we experience ups and downs. Yes, some people seem to experience more than their share of ups but that is unique. Most of us have many challenges in our lives which can wear us down. Psalm 143 is a psalm of personal lament. It is also considered to be one of the penitential psalms (6, 32, 38, 51, 102, 130, and 143). In it, we can identify with David’s lament about life. He is weary of the fight. He is beaten down, as they say. For many years David has to face the enemies of life and his spirit is fainting. Discouragement brought on by fatigue and personal failures plague his heart and life. Do you remember just the "good ole days?" Or, do you remember the GOD who made those spiritual victories happen?
