Throughout redemptive history, there have been numerous times when all seemed lost for God’s people and God’s plan. All must have seemed lost when Luther was brought before the Diet of Worms; or, when William Tyndale was arrested, or, when John Wycliff died while preaching! Going farther back in history, all hope must have seemed gone when the Apostle Peter was crucified upside-down; or the Apostle Paul was beheaded. This is how it was with those Jews who survived the fall of Judah to the Babylonian Empire.
