Faith Without Works IS DEAD | 3 KINDS of FAITH

Topic: Faith, Saving Faith, Effectual Calling, False Faith, Curiosity Scripture: James 2:14–26

How do you know if a thing is a genuine article? Are we sure the Mona Lesa is a genuine work of DaVinci? Can we validate through method and examination that the Brandenburg Concerto is really the work of Johan Sebastian Bach? With all things valuable, there is a science, a method, a process for testing and proving the legitimacy of the item in question. Something else important to note, all valuable things are counterfeited. For everything real that is of great value, there is a cheap counterfeit that, for a time, can fool us, a fake that may look deceivingly similar. In verses 14-26, James reaches a climax of his efforts to awaken those who have deceived themselves by separating the profession of Christ from their manner of life. Led by the Spirit of God, James has been showing that true faith leads to a changed life, a life consisting of good works. Immediately James addresses the problem, "What does it profit..." he is emphatically stating that works do not save but the faith that saves works.
