In our zeal to evangelize the lost, we have nearly forgotten the mandate, discipline, and art of worship. Take special notice of the text before us this morning. In it see these people worship. Witness their zeal for God and return thanks to Him for His blessings. In our considerations for these two studies, let us understand first that thanking God is not extra to their adoration; it is not something added. The people’s thank offerings are not incidental but they are integral and essential to their worship. All worship of God in its simplest form is thanking Him for His person and His mighty works.

Let’s this be the beginning of a heart of grateful praise to God every week!

Yes, let’s prepare our hearts and our families for this season of thanks to God. Set aside all competitors for His praise. Set aside time. Set aside distractions. Let’s not call it “Thanksgiving” if we plan to make about food and football. He is the object of our celebration. He is the source of our provision. He is the cause of our praise. He deserves our humble and joyful praise!
