Can You KNOW GOD'S WILL? | How to Discern God's Will for Your Life

The will of God is not something you find but is something you do. That might be a striking statement for some of you. Perhaps you have cut your teeth, as it were, on the notion that God’s will is, in some way, hidden and must be found. The truth could be farther from that. As Pastor John MacArthur once wrote, “Since God has a will for us, He must want us to know it.” Found: God’s Will. When it comes to seeking God's will we have become very fuzzy on how to discern it. Some look strictly for signs and miracles; others look frantically for any kind of omens such as a magazine ad or a billboard. Still, others close their eyes, let their Bible fall open, and point to a verse in hopes that their finger will land a verse that applies. Has God left us to such uncertainty? Or have we made the mistake of assuming that we fully understand all that the Bible has to say on this matter when in reality we have not even studied it? Consider carefully how God worked in Ruth’s life and I believe you will begin to see that this is His normative practice in our lives.
