Does it matter if God is holy? Is the doctrine of the holiness of God outdated? Isn't God love? How does the holiness of God impact life and worship?

I love to hear it when the church choir sings Michael W. Smith’s version of “Agnes Dei.” Since I’ve become pastor, our Coggins Church choir hasn’t had the chance but I am praying that will change soon now that we are working on rebooting our worship ministry. In a previous church I pastored, I remember a few people, not familiar with Latin, asking what these words meant. They were each happy to learn that Agnes Dei means pure or holy God in Latin. We might say that Psalm 99 is the Psalmist’s rendition of Agnes Dei. I hope you like it…
