Peace In The Mind
April 19, 2020 Speaker: Pastor Scott Slaughter Series: PHILIPPIANS, Radical Joy In Christ
Topic: Discipleship, God's Will, Obedience to God Scripture: Philippians 4:8–9
We have thus far looked at Paul’s teaching on peace within the church body and peace in each of our hearts. This morning, we will give special thought to peace in our minds. What does it mean to have the mind of Christ? Well, it means to think, Scripturally, like Christ Himself.
Often our minds are overcome because we have not looked at the world nor our own problems through the lens of God’s Word. Instead, we choose to “handle” the stress and anxiety of living in a godless world in our strength and with our own strategies. Scripture teaches us in Proverbs 3:5-6 to “Trust in the Lord [’s ways] and to lean not upon our own understanding."
Let’s consider Paul’s words here more closely.
