“But God, I want it my way.” 

“What’s wrong with me serving God while I’m living with my boyfriend?” 

“Pastor, God’s way is too hard. Is there not an easier path?” 

We would never say that easier is always better. Sometimes, the Lord opens our path and smooths the road so that we may serve Him with peace and tranquility. 

But often this is not His way. It seems that more often the Lord chooses the cross rather than the couch for us.
