Topic: Jesus Christ, Messiah, Salvation Scripture: John 3:1–3:22

Is God after conformity or is He calling us to forgiveness and life by the Spirit? Often it is the religious, moral person who is the hardest to reach with the massage of the gospel.

He/she mistakenly assumes:

- That being religious amounts to something before God.

- That if “I’m good enough God will accept me.”

- That eternal life can be earned.

Here is a true story about such a man, Nicodemus.

Let’s look at the whole context of John 3:1-22 and see exactly what Jesus was saying to this very religious, very moral man. The Apostle Paul was just such an individual (Phil. 3:1-9 cf. Acts 9:1-9).
