Introducing Our 2020 Vision!

What is the most important thing that Christ has called the church to do? That is a question of some debate, to be sure. But Jesus’s conversation with the woman at the well in John 4 shows that even evangelism and missions serve the greater purpose of worship.

The woman said to him, “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. [20] Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship.” [21] Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. [22] You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. [23] But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. (ESV, John 4:19–23)

For a year and a half, we’ve been reinvigorating ministries and remodeling buildings thanks to an army of God’s faithful people her at Coggins. It is an exciting thing to be a part of. As you read this the Daycare rooms are being competed. As a result, we beginning to see new faces in our sweet fellowship.

As we prepare to embark on an exciting new year, let’s prayerfully return to our main focus of worship. As I’ve been praying about what the Lord would have us do this year, He has powerfully impressed on me that we need to crystallize our focus on worship! I am very excited that God leading in this direction. All that we’ve been doing has been leading to this. When visitors join us on Sundays we need to be prepared for them  through the vital ministries of Greeters, Sunday School Classes, Lil’s Sprouts Nurseries, Kids Worship, Welcome Packets, Security Teams, Ushers, College Outreach, and our Young Adult Bible Study. Through your hard work and diligence in the Lord’s work, we have moved faster than I could have expected! As your Pastor, let me say, I am humbled by the love and support of our congregation. God is moving in Coggins!!

I hope you will join me Sunday evening, December 29th at 6:00 o’clock for the Vision Talk. I look forward to sharing with you all in more detail some of the things I believe the Lord is leading us to begin in 2020! Let’s have a 2020 Vision for Dynamic Biblical Worship!

Love you All,

Pastor Scott
